Let’s face it, there will come a time in everyone’s life when we could use a healing. We all get
sick from time-to-time, that’s the downfall of being a mortal human being. Whether it is
something as simple as the common cold or something more serious like the flu.
And of course, because of our busy lifestyles, sickness always crops up on you at the most inconvenient
times. You just played hooky from work, by calling in sick one day, and bam! A few days latter you really
get sick. So, you go to work sick, because your afraid to take another day off.
But, a simple cold or even the flu which is not necessarily life threatening for the average person,
can reek havoc in ones life. Oh sure, the flu can be deadly to some, for instance the elderly, but
in general, most of us will overcome it as our bodies immune system fights to kill the intruding
sickness.
Did you ever stop to think about your bodies ability to heal yourself? Probably not! The same people
who pooh-pooh the idea of supernatural healing from God, probably at one time or another received a
healing from God and didn’t even realize it.
If your body has the ability to heal itself, where do you think that ability came from? Now, I am not
writing this to debate the existence of God, even though it is tied to this same principle; but let’s
assume for this article that we all believe that there is a God out there somewhere, but supernatural
healing? Come on now!
There are many, many people who believe that God exists, but don’t believe He is involved in their
lives. And there is some truth in that statement, but it is not because God has distanced Himself from
you, but because you have distanced yourself from God.
Believe me when I say, if you’ve recovered from a sickness or disease through your bodies immune system,
you’ve received a supernatural healing. Because God supernaturally created you with an immune system to
protect you from the deadly elements of this fallen world we live in.
Whether you believe that or not, God does heal diseases through your immune system. You might ask, “if
this were true, then why do we sometimes need doctors in order to get well?” That’s a very good question
and your probably not going to like my answer.
It’s because we stray to far away from God. Joshua 1:8, reads,
“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night,
that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way
prosperous, and then you will have good success.” Wow! And that “good success”
includes healing. It may not say it in that passage, but God promises health and well-being elsewhere in
the Bible.
Now, how many of you can honestly say that you regularly meditate on the Book of the Law, or what today
we call the Bible? Even I cannot say that I follow this principle the way I should; and I run a ministry.
There are many times I get caught up in the development of the ministry and a day or two goes by and I
realize I haven’t dedicated myself to any personal meditation on the Word of God.
Oh sure, I’ve been writing articles or developing the website, but even though it may be for the ministry,
I distance myself from my personal intimate relationship with God. Just like I did before I began the
ministry and I was involved solely in worldly pursuits.
I am not saying you have to be involved in ministry to be close to God, because as I said, I still find
myself at a distance from God at times, but we all have to be careful we do not distance ourselves to
the point where we feel guilty and give up on our relationship with God. That’s exactly what the devil
wants you to do.
What we should be doing is treating our personal lives as a ministry, even if we have secular jobs. We
can’t all be traditional ministers of the Gospel. Many times someone with a secular job can be more
effective than a tradition minister, because the one whom you may be influencing with your Christian
walk, can relate more to you than they can to a minister, because it may be a co-worker or friend that
you already share commonness with.
Now, what does this all have to do with healing? Everything! God’s promises are endless for those who
stay close to Him; for those who meditate on His Word. I’ve experienced supernatural healings in my
life in the past few years, which has led me to dedicate myself to spreading this awesome truth.
Whether it’s heart disease, liver disease, the flu, or just the common cold. God can handle any of
these diseases or any disease outbreak that may come about. In Exodus 15:26, God tells us, “...for I
am the LORD, who heals you.” Yes, He was talking to the Israelites at that time, but He has inspired
His Word for us today as well.
The Bible tells us that Jesus not only bore our sins on the cross, but all our sicknesses and diseases
as well, so we no longer have to bare them.
There is so much more I can say; and if you want to know more, I recommend my study on this topic,
“Jesus On Healing: I Am
Willing!” It’s a four part study that goes in-depth into this supernatural
topic of healing. You can access it by clicking on the title.
If you would like us to prayer for you, click here and send us your prayer request. All requests have hands
laid on, prayed over, and if you truly believe you will experience healing as we read in James 5:15, “And
the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned,
he will be forgiven.”
