Statement of Beliefs

We believe...

... The Bible is the infallible word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17 ,
Psalm 18:30 ).

... The trinity or three persons of God— the Father, Son and Holy Spirit
(
Matthew 28:19 ).

... That man was created in the image of God, and became entrapped in a fallen world due to the sin of self-will (Genesis 1:26 , Romans 5:12 ).

... That the Word, who is one with God, became Jesus Christ, the only Son of God— bore Himself on the Cross to redeem us of our sinfulness and upon acceptance of Him as our Savior, restores us as children of God the Father, to the full inheritance to His kingdom. (John 1:1-14 , Isaiah 53:3-5 , John 3:16 ,
Matthew 25:34
).

... That the only way to be saved is through faith in Jesus Christ, and faith being a gift from the grace of God (Ephesians 2:8 ).

... That if you confess your sins to God, you become purified and righteous before God (1 John 1:9 ).

... That upon acceptance of Christ, you become one with Christ and become a new creation endowed with the Holy Spirit of God (2 Corinthians 5:17 ,
Luke 11:13 ).

... That divine healing is real and is the power of Christ, through believers, to heal the sick in answer to the prayer of faith (James 5:14-16 ).

... That empowered by the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit bestows spiritual gifts upon believers; and that we should show spiritual fruit as evidence of a Spirit-filled life (1 Corinthians 12:1-11 , Galatians 5:22 ).

... That the spiritual gifts received at Baptism are filled with power and authority and available to us believers as Jesus said, “they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues, they will raise the dead, they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover” (John 14:12-14 , Matthew 10:8 ,
Mark 16:17-18 ).

... That baptism by full immersion in water is symbolic of being born again and putting to rest our sinful nature by being buried in death (going in the water) and raised to life (coming out of the water)— receiving a new life with Christ and taking on the nature of Christ (Matt. 28:19 , Romans 6:4 ).

... That we should break bread with other believers and commemorate the Lord's Supper by the symbolic use of the bread and wine as accepting the Body and Blood in memory of Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 11:24-25 ).

... That it is the responsibility of those called by God to freely distribute the message of the Good News of the Gospel to all who will hear, and that it is the responsibility of those who have been born again to support those who have been called into God’s ministry and have dedicated their lives to God's service (Matthew 10:8 ,
2 Corinthians 9:7 , Luke 10:2-7 ).

... That it is the responsibility of the believer to spread the Good News of Salvation through Jesus Christ to make disciples and to win souls for the Kingdom of God (Matthew 28:19-20 , James 5:20 ).

... That Christ will rapture His Church to set up the end time judgment of God
(
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 , Revelation 8:14 ).

... That Christ is to come again in all His glory to finally put an end to Satan’s reign for a thousand year period (Daniel 7:13 , Matthew 24:30 ,
Revelation 20:2 ).
